After telling the world he wasn’t going to do it again, Daniel Craig changed his mind and decided to reprise his role as James Bond.
Surprise of the century, I suppose.
If Pierce Brosnan had his way, however, he would rather have actor Tom Hardy play the smooth secret agent.
Make no mistake, Brosnan – who enjoyed a stint as Bond back in the day – is full of praise for Craig, according to Metro:
Daniel Craig has been an incredible Bond. He’s very physical, he looks lethal. You genuinely believe this is someone who could kill a man.
Still, he endorses Hardy – the king of the muffle-voiced characters such as Batman baddie Bane – as the next guy to snatch the title of 007:
[Craig] will do the next movie, and then I think Tom Hardy [pictured below] could be a good Bond.
I’d be happy to see him do it. You need an actor who can put a bit of wiggle into it – that’s what makes Bond.
This is coming from the guy who apparently didn’t have enough “wiggle” to play James Bond in the first place, leading him to be unceremoniously dropped from the role and replaced by Craig.
At least Brosnan’s not bitter about it – at least, not any longer:
Talking about returning to Pinewood studios to film the first Mamma Mia! film, he said:
“I looked out of my dressing room window, saw a huge 007 on the wall opposite me and realised we were on the James Bond set. ‘That was the moment I faced up to my past. I had issues for many years. Now I just have great feelings about Bond.”
That’s the spirit, Brosnan.
Now if you could please go sort out your tobacco-chewing debacle, that would be great.
