English Fans Celebrated Their World Cup Win In Typical Style [Videos]

When you score in extra time to win your World Cup opener, you can expect wild celebrations. The English fans did not disappoint.

Late last night, with every Pommie football muttering about ‘typical bloody England’, Harry Kane nodded in the winner.

The skipper’s 91st-minute goal sparked wild celebrations, both in the stadium and back in the UK, and puts England in a decent position to progress from Group G, which also contains the mighty Belgium.

Kane had already spent much of the match being grappled WWE-style by Tunisian defenders, and his late goal probably saved the country from some serious riots in the street.

Instead, there were wild scenes of celebration. From 1:20 below, Harry’s first goal goes in:

Fans watching in Newcastle were rather chuffed with Harry’s winner:

In Leeds, there was plenty of celebrating to be done:

A look at what it was like to be sat amongst the English fans at the stadium when they took the lead late on:

This is probably my favourite of the lot:

I’m not sure where this was filmed, but folks be going mental:

In Plymouth, one chap decided to climb on a car bonnet. Pretty sure he’ll have a decent roastie after this dismount:

At least these guys behaved a little better with cars around:

Fans at the Lord Raglan Pub in central London didn’t seem bothered by the ‘no drinks on the pool table’ rule:

At least they know what to expect if they go all the way – look at this little beaut by the BBC:

This guy gets it, too:

I reckon you’re allowed to go as bonkers as you want when celebrating a World Cup win, but maybe lay off the car bonnet riding until you’re out of the group stages.
