Some people get a kick out of watching a movie that terrifies them, but I am not one of those people.
To be honest, I’m still reeling from watching the trailer for Hereditary, and it looks like Halloween might be another one of those movies that horror fans are going to lap up.
The first trailer came out earlier this week, 40 years after the original which starred Jamie Lee Curtis, and as you might have guessed from that picture up top she’s back once again.
She’s not the only one reprising that role, with this below via Esquire:
…John Carpenter, who directed, co-wrote, and scored the original, returns as producer and composer. And Jamie Lee Curtis reprises her iconic role as Laurie Strode, who’s now a shotgun-toting grandma determined to see Michael Myers in his grave once and for all.
The new Halloween scraps the canon established by the original film’s seven sequels in favor [sic] of a simpler timeline that finds it picking up directly where the first movie left off. Now, rather than spending years terrorizing the residents of Haddonfield in painful sequel after painful sequel, Michael Myers has been institutionalized since his original 1978 killing spree.
He escapes (of course) and comes back to town to terrorize Laurie, her daughter, and her granddaughter.
Not for me, but maybe this is your kinda vibe:
Do as you please, and I’ll stick to my true-crime shows.
