Nothing beats the thrill of running, especially when your best tjommies are running right beside you.
Whether you guys take a scenic jog on the Sea Point Promenade a la Cyril Ramaphosa, or you all get together to hit the tarmac at the Cradle of Humankind, running is one of those activities that really boosts the bonding levels to the extreme.
Not to mention the good feeling that comes with knowing you’re getting fit and healthy together, ’cause goodness knows that journey can be boring when you’re doing it all alone.
Are those the kind of good vibes you’re looking for when you’re running?
Or maybe you want to meet up with other like-minded individuals who could be your next running partners?
If so, then you and your mates are in a for a treat: the second edition of the Stor-Age Festival of Running is taking place on Saturday, June 23, at SuperSport Park in Centurion, Pretoria.
There, over 2 500 seasoned and amateur runners will be brought together for you to meet, greet and snatch gold medals with.
Absolute bliss, am I right?
You can also bring along your non-running friends and family to help cheer you on as you partake in one of three categories – the Solo Challenge, Relay and Schools Challenge – which are tailored for both amateur and seasoned runners. Participants will run in laps around the stadium and along the grass embankments to complete the 2km route.
So whether you’re a serious solo sprinter or just running with your buddies because you all enjoy it, you’re in for excitement and fun.
To maximise the experience for participants, title sponsor Stor-Age – who are dedicated to involving themselves in the comradery of the local Centurion community – has altered the festival from being a two-day event to a one-day event.
Pierre Joubert, Commercial Manager of SuperSport Park, said:
We are all very excited about this year’s event, as we have already surpassed our expected interest in the festival and believe it will be even bigger and better than last year.
There is much excitement amongst the local community, and we urge all runners and their families to join us on June 23.
I’m keen, how about you?
To enter the festival, click here, but you better hurry up – entries close on June 10, which is three days away.

And if you’ve got any belongings that you want to store away safely while you’re up in Centurion, Stor-Age has got you covered – we’ve landed a 2OV special, with 50% off your first month.
