In today’s edition of ‘dreaming about things that are completely beyond my means’, I’m going property shopping in Higgovale.
Given that I have abandoned logic, we’re going to skip over the entry-level R5 million to R8 million apartments and duplexes, settling instead on something for around R15 million.
R14 990 000 to be precise, which gets us a rather nice four-bedroom, three-bathroom and two-garage house.
Let’s start with the write-up on Private Property:
Upon entering this exquisite property one immediately feels at home and will want to stay. This romantic, free standing Victorian gem is sunny and bright, overlooking the well-known Leeuwenhof Estate and includes breath taking views of Lion”s Head and Table Mountain.
Set back from the road and high up in elevated position, you will feel completely safe and protected in this property.
It’s got those views sorted:
Magic. More waffle with a few pics thrown in:
On entry level is a lounge, dining area, a well fitted kitchen with large windows looking onto a terraced herb garden and a separate pantry & laundry. Also on this level is a guest WC, an exquisite library with pressed ceilings and bay windows and a study or fourth bedroom. Both the lounge and the library have a fireplace.
This lovely Victorian has an impressive terrace with a sparkling pool, built in braai and views to die for. A real entertainers dream!
The beautiful wooden staircase leads to the upper level with its main suite where you can wake up with the best views in town or soak up in your Victorian bath tub with vistas of Lion”s Head. Also on the upper level are two more bedrooms and an additional bathroom.
This lovely home has wooden flooring through out, a water wise garden and a double garage with direct access. A separate self-contained two bedroom cottage, generating income, complete a superb package.
Take all of my non-existent money.
The rolled up towels really are a nice touch. I feel that’s often a good indicator of when someone has ticked over into full-blown adulthood.
If you can’t put down the money for the house up front, you could always take the monthly repayment option.
Sit down, because I have bad news:
Well, that was fun. I hope whoever buys this loves it as much as I would have.
