Wow, Jennifer Garner looks like she’s ready for a revival of Alias.
For real, though. It’s been more than a decade since we last saw the actress kicking ass and taking names as Sydney Bristow in the spy-themed TV show. In the meantime, she’s been busy appearing in rom-com flicks, family dramas, and making videos on her totally underrated Instagram account.
Now Garner’s making her return to STX Entertainment’s new thriller Peppermint, and she looks like she hasn’t missed a beat.
The official trailer for the film has been released. Directed by Pierre Morel, the guy behind Taken, it’s being billed as a “revenge thriller”, according to Collider:
[Peppermint] stars Garner as a young mother who wakes up from a coma to learn her husband and daughter have been gunned down in a drive-by shooting. To settle her score, she spends years training to become a vengeance-fuelled killing machine and executes her own brand of justice against those responsible, from the criminals to the system that protected them.
Take a squizz:
OG Garner for the win.
Joining her for the ride are John Gallagher Jr., Method Man, John Ortiz, Juan Pablo Raba, Annie Ilonzeh and Richard Cabral. It’ll be released in the US on September 19.
The trailer gives off those Taken and John Wick vibes, so much so that you expect Liam Neeson or Keanu Reeves to pop up.
But, as it also shows, it looks like Jennifer Garner can hold her own just fine.
