It’s only when you haven’t smoked weed in a while that you realise how far that smell travels.

I walked out of our office building the other day and the air was thick with the smell of zol – not that I mind, but I scanned the area and it didn’t come anywhere in a close proximity.

Let that shizz slide, because no one was hurt, although that’s not the case with Hilary Duff and her pot-smoking neighbour.

Duff took to her Instagram and aired her frustrations in a Story. It’s gone now, but Huff Post SA caught wind of it:

“Calling all New Yorkers with asshole neighbours. Really open to any advice you have,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories. “My neighbour smokes cigarettes and weed all night long. My apartment reeks. Seriously, what do I do?”

Apparently, her solution was to drag her neighbour by name on social media

Way to take the high road, Hilary.

So how is her neighbour, Dieter Addison, taking the attack? He’s not lying down, as Page Six reports:

Addison, whose grandfather was the first to import German Lowenbrau beer into the US – strongly denies smoking weed, says he is sober, and adds that he currently works three jobs. He insists that Duff and her boyfriend Matthew Koma [below] are in fact the nightmare neighbors [sic] …

Addison, who spoke to Page Six by phone Wednesday, says he is hiring lawyers because he does not smoke pot — and he actually lives full time with a sober companion.

But he does admit he is a heavy cigarette smoker and has received complaints about cigarette smoke from the actress…

[He] insisted Duff’s social media onslaught is unfair, “I am getting a lot of hate mail and threats from her fans, it is so bad I’m going to have to get a bodyguard. I am from a very private German family and we are hiring lawyers.”

Sounds like everyone just needs to chill, man.

Hmm – if only there was some sort of miracle plant out there that is well known for helping people relax.
