Tomorrow is the big day, folks! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to put a ring on it at St George’s Chapel.
But before the Suits actress managed to bag herself a prince, after she went through a string of failed romances (including a porn star), he was one of the most eligible bachelors in Britain, according to Business Insider.
He kept the media in a tizzy when it came to his love life. And it’s no wonder – the guy is rumoured to have been in flings with pop singers, models and socialites.
Sjoe, it sounds like Prince Harry lived the life … or did he?
These are the ladies who the prince and soon-to-be Mr Markle really dated, and who he didn’t date:
Prince Harry’s relationship with Zimbabwean-born Chelsea Davy (pictured right) was the real deal, folks. Back in 2004, they met at Stowe School in Buckinghamshire, England, and the prince reportedly fell hard for her “bright, fun personality”. She was his main squeeze for seven years.
But alas, it was an on-again, off-again romance: rumour has it that Davy yearned for a commitment from Harry and she struggled to make genuine new friends in Britain. Plus, she was pretty freaked out by the media scrutiny that came with dating the prince.
Understandable. Not that I would know what’s it like to date a member of the royal family, but still.
They finally called it quits in 2011. Nowadays, Davy is busy with her African-inspired jewellery line called AYA.
After splitting from with Davy, Prince Harry hooked up with Cressida Bonas in 2012. And like him, the gal had blue blood running through her veins:
Bonas is a descendant of King Charles II, and her mother is Lady Mary-Gaye Curzon, the daughter of the sixth Earl Howe.
Bonas studied dance at Leeds University, pursued acting, and modeled for Mulberry [sic]. When Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie introduced the two, it seemed as if the aristocratic Bonas was a perfectly suitable fit for palace life. The couple went on trips to Switzerland, attended concerts, and were even spotted on date nights at burger joints.
Sounds like a match made in heaven, hey?
Nope. They ended their romance on an amicable note in 2014. But Bonas is moving on with her own life: her acting career is thriving, and she recently starred as Sonia Orwell in the play Mrs Orwell last year.
You go, girl.
Now here are the ladies that Prince Harry didn’t hook up with:
Back in 2016, Prince Harry was spotted with singer Ellie Goulding at the 2016 Audi Polo Challenge, with eyewitnesses telling The Telegraph that the two “spent a lot of time sitting together under blankets.”
Doing what under those blankets, we can only imagine. But the fact is that they never became an official couple.
When Goulding was asked by an interviewer for The Project TV if she planned to have a baby with Harry, the singer shut them down with a firm “no”, and that pretty much put the rumours surrounding their “relationship” to rest for good.
Actress Katie Cassidy also didn’t date Prince Harry. In fact, she turned down a potential date with the guy in 2014.
Per Business Insider:
[Cassidy] said Harry and his friends, who appeared to be part of a bachelor party, invited Cassidy and her friends out with them. The group of women thanked them for their offer but said no.
Cassidy said she saw Harry the next day at the pool, recalling that he was understanding and respectful about the declined offer.
What a gentleman.
As for these ladies – singer Natalie Imbruglia and actress Emma Watson (both pictured below) – that Harry’s been “spotted” with, that’s just nonsense.
These are the romances – real and fictional – of Prince Harry’s life, and now he’s going to be settling down with Meghan Markle.
But hey, I’m willing to bet Bonas – or Davy – will get invited to the wedding. We’ll be watching out for them tomorrow.
