I would have a lot more sympathy for this pitch invader if we hadn’t seen that sickening violence at the Kaizer Chiefs versus Free State Stars match last month.
Take a look at these disgusting scenes to get a sense of what I’m talking about.
Fast forward to last night, and Barcelona’s superstars schooling the Sundowns players during a 3-1 win.
With 38 minutes on the clock, and Barcelona two goals up, a rather clumsy fan made his way onto the field.
One eagle-eyed Twitter user saw what was happening, and that was picked up by Jacaranda:
Am I the only one who noticed this #SundownsBarça pic.twitter.com/VPLN2KadJR

You may have guessed from the lack of grace that the chap was plastered, and he didn’t take the aftermath too well.
Here’s a tweet from stadium Management’s CEO Jacques Grobbelaar, who was also unimpressed:
Under that tweet, Grobbelaar confirmed the man was intoxicated:
Sympathy for the boozed-up pitch invader was limited:
Most of the time they’re not doing any harm, but I’m sure Messi is growing tired of having people try and take a selfie with him mid-match.
If you watched past the final whistle yesterday, you would have seen Sundowns players lining up to snap a pic with the King.
Still the best effort from the day:
Far more successful than this guy:
Oh no! A fan had to be taken off the field after he tried to get his hands on Messi. ♂ pic.twitter.com/Pu1cV1Gtbv

He’s not the same guy who charged the field up top, just to be clear. He ended up making it pretty close to Messi:
Sigh. Humans.
