We’re only two days away from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tying the knot, and no one is freaking out more than the students at Markle’s old high school.
At Immaculata Heart, a private Catholic high school in Hollywood, Los Angeles, British and American flags were flying and fascinators were out in full force as the girls there held a tea party on the school grounds on Tuesday afternoon, reported The Telegraph.
Don’t believe me? See for yourself:
Yes, they are dancing to the theme song from Girl Meets World.
Lily Roth, a pupil at the school, spoke about how excited and proud they are for Markle, one of their “panda sisters” – a strange yet oddly endearing nickname for alumni – to be marrying into royalty:
It feels amazing to have one of our own ‘panda sisters’ have done such incredible things at her young age – all her philanthropy work.
And now she’s marrying into the Royal family. So we’re more than proud of her.
Yeah, we can see that.
This looked like a proper jol, right?
Erica Roey, another pupil, gushed:
I think [Markle’s] really inspiring in that she did so much selfless work. She worked for this part.
Greatest reward ever.
Markle studied at the school from the age of 11 to 18, leaving in 1999. Her teachers remember her as someone focused and mature, who worked hard to achieve good marks. Christine Knudsen, her former teacher, also gushed about Markle:
She was so poised. I think from being an actress from a young age she knew how to carry herself, she knew how to speak.
I suppose that is an important requirement for an actress, knowing how to speak and all.
The school is holding a viewing party for students, parents and teachers who wish to watch the forthcoming wedding.
Which, in American local time, would be 4AM. Repeat, four in the freakin’ morning.
Wow. Dedication.
Maria Pollia, another teacher who served as Markle’s mentor, will be up during this ungodly hour to watch her student walk down the aisle (with or without her father Thomas by her side):
I will be watching every moment of the royal wedding, in real time. It’s very important to me to, and at least this way, I have a sense that I can be with her and encourage her and pray for her in this wonderful step she is taking in her life.
That’s if they manage to stay awake during the entire ceremony. But I’m pretty confident that they’ll be rooting for their panda-sister all the way into the afternoon.
