It was no surprise to me that HelloPeter gives Phil Minnaar Cars in George less than 2 stars. Such was my experience when buying a car for my wife a few months ago from the Phil Minnaar car dealership in George.
I really didn’t want it to get to this, but they’ve left me no choice. What else must one do when not one email (have sent several) and more than 10 phone calls are left without reply?
Phil Minnaar Cars in George is the most unprofessional motor vehicle outfit I have ever encountered and they refuse to engage in any after-sales service whatsoever. Such has been my experience.
Details to follow..
For now, it seems I’m not alone.
This, from HelloPeter:
Poor service and ignorance of safety issues.
We bought a Volvo XC60 from Phill Minnaar Motors in George in December 2014.. From the outset there were some problems that needed to be repaired and fixed which was agreed by Brandon from Phill Minnaar Motors. We started a tedious amount of emails of which most were ignored. Most importantly, There were scratches that needed to be repaired as were agreed by the seller and then we found the brake pads were faulty and needed urgent replacement. The issue had been taken up with Volvo in George who serviced the vehicle in Nov ’14. As the service agreement did not cover the cost of brake pads, Volvo informed Phill Minnaar Motors and a warning note was made on the service invoice. Both front and rear pads needed replacement of which Brandon agreed to sort out. I visited Phill Minnaar motors several times to no avail and to date all my emails and communication about the problems had been ignored. Brakes on any car are most important, especially when you invest in a VOLVO which is claimed to be some of the safest cars on the road. To date no repairs or action had been taken by Phill Minnaar Motors or it’s directors and it is 5 months later!
