Yesterday saw Vicki Momberg sentenced to jail, in what was a landmark ruling for the country.
She becomes the first person in South Africa to be given a prison sentence for crimen injuria, which is a “wilful injury to someone’s dignity, caused by the use of obscene or racially offensive language or gestures”.
