Enjoying that funemployment, are we?
Everyone loves a holiday, but at the end of the day most of us have to pay our own bills. That means buckling down for the job hunt, and every nudge in the right direction is considered a helping hand.
So which city is considered the best place to secure employment, as we head towards the second quarter of this year?
According to the latest ManpowerGroup Employment Outlook Survey, released earlier this month, those who call Cape Town home are smiling. IOL below:
…employers reported encouraging signs for job seekers in the second quarter, with 14% of employers expecting to increase staffing levels, 5% expecting a decrease and 80% forecasting no change, resulting in a seasonally adjusted net employment outlook of more than 8%…
Employers in all five regions are expected to increase staffing levels during the second quarter, with the strongest hiring prospects in the Western Cape at 11%, followed by Gauteng at 10%, KwaZulu-Natal at 9% and the Eastern Cape at 6%.
Decent news, job hunters.
Considering that the survey comes via the country’s leading workforce experts, that’s pretty encouraging stuff.
I suppose employers are going to be looking for talent in the near future, so you will want to get your CV listed on ManpowerGroup SA right about now.
According to Lyndy van den Barselaar, the managing director of ManpowerGroup SA, we’re all a little more optimistic:
“While the country still faces challenges in terms of repairing years of economic sluggishness, promises of policy certainty and consistency seem to have had a further positive effect on confidence and the strength of the economy. These factors make for a more positive backdrop for employment in the country,” she said.
We know you love a good infographic, so here’s something for you to chew on:
Finance and real estate bouncing back nicely.
We’d recommend that you have a good snoop through these listings to set the wheels in motion, and keep an eye on what the experts have to say about where those opportunities lie.
With 23 successive years on the Fortune 500 list, listed on the New York Stock Exchange, and named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies for the seventh consecutive year, ManpowerGroup has connected more than 600 000 people to meaningful work across a wide range of skills and industries.
There’s no reason you can’t make it one more success – good luck out there, you got this!
