Across the US, hundreds of thousands marched on Saturday in support of tighter gun control legislation.
In case you are ridiculously out of touch with what’s happening in the States, the event was conceived after last month’s tragic mass shooting at Marjorie Stoneman High School.
200 000 protestors attended the Washington, D.C part of the ‘March for Our Lives’ protest, where there were speeches and musical performances by Ariana Grande, Jennifer Hudson and Lin-Manuel Miranda, among others, reports Rolling Stone:
In the crowd, the march was also a feverish, populist scrum, with parents, students, teachers, children – and inevitably, survivors of the dead – mobilizing [sic] to express a personal message, sometimes exasperation, sometimes heartbreak, sometimes outrage
And, as with most protests, there was a selection of signs bobbing above the crowd.
