EFF’s Floyd Shivambu Accused Of Choking, Manhandling Journalist [Videos]

Whilst snapping a few photos and trying to get a comment from Floyd, journalist Adrian de Kock was assaulted outside Parliament earlier today.

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) deputy president Floyd Shivambu may well find himself in some hot water, after journalists captured his altercation with Media24’s Adrian de Kock outside Parliament earlier this morning.

De Kock, along with other journalists, was waiting outside the building where Cape Town mayor Patricia de Lille’s disciplinary hearing is taking place.

After approaching Shivambu and asking for comment, de Kock claims he was held by the neck and manhandled.

This video via News24:

Hey Floyd, why are you so angry? Tomorrow is a public holiday, today is Fake Friday, KG Rabada’s suspension has been overturned and he can now destroy the Ozzies in the third and fourth tests.

In short, life is good.

When de Kock was approached by Times LIVE for comment, he said he would definitely be laying charges:

Andisiwe Makinana‚ the chairman of the parliamentary press gallery‚ said that they were “gathering information about the incident and we will write to the Speaker and the EFF”.

Journalists should never be subject to abuse like this, and elected officials need to be held accountable for behaving like thugs.
