It’s less that 2,4 metres wide but, extending a full 32 metres in length, it is able to squeeze in six two-tops, five four-tops and even a long table capable of seating parties of 10.
That’s around 42 people at a time, in what is considered the world’s narrowest restaurant.
Located in Cordoba, Argentina, El Papagayo was bought by architect Ernesto Bedmar 33 years ago and initially turned into a loft. However, “as it started to deteriorate and turned less profitable”, he began thinking about what else he could use it for, reports Travel & Leisure.
He then met chef Javier Rodriguez and the idea for El Papagayo, meaning corridor, was born:
Of course, the restaurant has a kitchen, and also manages to fit not one, but three bathrooms and an office upstairs:
To liven up the potentially dark space, the ceiling is almost entirely made of glass, which allows natural light to pour in.
