Delta Air Lines, up there with America’s biggest domestic and international airlines, want you to see as much of the world as possible
And, of course, they want to be the ones you choose to help get you there.
In a new ad from Wieden + Kennedy New York, the creatives got clever and turned every scene in the almost-minute-long montage into a runway, reports AdWeek.
An airport runway, not a fashion runway.
Stringing together more than 15 destinations serviced by the airline, the advert is voiced over by Oscar-winning actress Viola Davis:
They’re not just the same-old tourist scenes. Each somehow fits into the ad’s titular theme, “Runways,” by repurposing some rectangular part of the shot—the street, the table, the dock—as a stand-in for just that, a runway. The camera perpetually zooms in, accelerating down each platform-for-takeoff, and pulling the viewer along for the trip.
Watch the magic:
Gorgeous, is it not?
It was released in the same week that Apple brought out their own magical masterpiece for their HomePods.
Featuring FKA Twigs dancing to a never-before heard Anderson .Paak track, the advert from Her director Spike Jonze is fantastical to say the least, explains TechCrunch.
It’s more of a short film than an advert, really:
Now that makes me super keen to get a HomePod in my house. If only it came with those magical abilities, though.
