The idea is that if you order a ride within the purple region of the map, you will get 50% off – you just need to click the T’s & C’s of Uber’s mailer to see it.

However, not many people go clicking around the T’s & C’s, so we did it for you and this is what we found.

Yesterday, after a week of being spoilt with a 50%-off promotion from Uber, Capetonians were thrown yet another offering: 50% off THREE rides from Monday, March 5 until 11:55PM on Sunday, March 11.

Fabulous, isn’t it?

And take a look at the area that is included in this week’s promotion:

The area extends from Muizenberg in the south all the way to Blouberg in the north, and includes a whole lot in between. If you happen to be making a mission to Kalk Bay this weekend, there’s no excuse not to leave the car behind and take it easy.

Here’s what the most important of the T’s & C’s say:

• The total value of the Discount shall be no more than R180 across the (3) three rides and the maximum value of the discount per ride is R60.00
• The promotion is automatically applied to all eligible riders who start their trip within the promotion area, to take up to a maximum of three (3) rides during the Promotion Period.
• Neither the Promotional Code nor the Discount can be transferred, duplicated or sold and they have no cash value. Neither the Promotional Code or the Discount can be combined with any other discounts, codes or promotions.
• The Discount is limited to rides starting in the Cape Town Promotion Area as marked in blue on the maps above.

Makes Phuza Thursday (or Ramaphuza Thursday, as some are calling it) all the more easy, right?
