Like most Capetonians, I love Table Mountain.

Also like most Capetonians, I talk about climbing it far more often than I actually do.

On the off chance that I make it onto the mountain, I’m a firm believer in taking things easy, which is clearly not a notion shared by these climbers.

This video below, sent out way by Garrreth Bird (three r’s, for rrreal), is one of those that makes your stomach churn, even when watching from the safety of the office.

It’s titled “SPRINGMIELIES! LEAPING INTO THE UNKNOWN MILES ABOVE THE CITY”, and that just about sums it up.

Springmielies means popcorn, for us souties out there.

Shout out to that fantastic mullet on display from the chap in red, which wouldn’t look out of place at Australia’s Mulletfest.

I applaud your bravery, folks, but I think I’ll watch from a safe distance.
