Severed Heads, Dragons And Third Eyes – Gucci’s ‘Cyborg’ Show Was Not For The Faint-Hearted

Designer Alessandro Michele never disappoints and, opening this year's Milan Fashion Week, he pushed the boundaries to a whole new level of weird.

February has been abuzz with fashion talk, as international fashion collections have been shown to buyers, the press and the general public in New York, London and Milan.

But of all the shows, none of them have garnered quite as much excitement as Gucci, kicking off Milan Fashion Week yesterday in a typically eccentric style.

The collection, called “Cyborg”, was sent down a runway outfitted like an operating room, presumably one belonging to a mad scientist of sorts.

The shock came when two models carried replicas of their own heads, while others had been given a third eye, pet dragon or some other weird addition to their look.

Suspense had already been building for the show due to the invitations from designer Alessandro Michele – orange timers which counted down to the event in glowing red numbers:

Beyond the creepiness, the show – which took place in the Gucci Hub, the brand’s Milan headquarters – included a wild mix of cultures and symbols, from a pagoda hat to a balaclava, a classic burgundy velvet dress to a gold lurex jacket, and fine lace to the logo of the New York Yankees.

Take a look:

So, which do you want, a pet dragon or a severed head clutch?
