There’s a whole world filled with mascots of every kind, and this is what the City of Cape Town came up with to encourage residents to use less water.
There were a lot of things happening in Cape Town yesterday, like the swearing in of South Africa’s new president, so we can forgive the City for not wanting to take the public’s attention away with the announcement of their new mascot.
Or maybe they were just too embarrassed.
During the unveiling of the #SaveWater ambassador programme yesterday morning, a mascot by the name of “Splash” made its first appearance, urging everyone to do their bit to save water.
In pretty much every pic taken at the event, Splash looks like it was about to head-butt anyone wasting a mere drop:
