Remember back in the day when Hello Kitty was all the rage?
It was the early 2000s, and it seemed like every girl had a Hello Kitty something.
Well, for those of you who have been looking for an excuse to wear the brand again, here’s your chance: nothing says throwback thursday like a pair of Hello Kitty sneakers on your feet.
Everyone’s favourite Japanese kitty cat (and forever-style icon) has teamed up with PUMA for the athleisure wear collection you will actually want to wear.
Yup, the staples of our early noughties wardrobes have returned, giving us a time-capsule collection of bags, trainers and the only tracksuit you should be wearing this season.
Think classic PUMA Suede trainers (celebrating their 50th anniversary this year, no less) reinvented in Valentine’s appropriate cherry red and printed with tiny little faces of Hello Kitty herself, explains Rocket News:
For the collection, Hello Kitty appears with her trademark bow and milk bottle, an image that harks back to the character’s childhood in London, where she made cookies and loved her mother’s homemade apple pie.
Totes adorable, no? Take a look:
Told you the collection was impressive.
And it looks so damn good in real life, too.
Here’s how much you can expect to drop on each item:
The PUMA x Hello Kitty Suede Classic available in adult (R2 299) junior (R1 699) pre-school (R1 299) and infant (R999) sizes.
Apparel pieces round out the PUMA x Hello Kitty capsule collection. The PUMA x Hello Kitty Tee (R699), the PUMA x Hello Kitty T7 Hoodie (R1 299) The PUMA x Hello Kitty Pants (R999) is tots adorbs.
A nod to Sanrio’s “small gift, big smile” philosophy, the capsule collection also features super cute coordinating accessories like the Red-White PUMA x Hello Kitty Backpack (R1 099) and Gym Sack (R499) and the PUMA x Hello Kitty Cap (R299).
Keen? The PUMA x HELLO KITTY Suede collection dropped on February 8, and can be found at PUMA SELECT in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
