When Rhoda Young heard that a house in a nearby neighbourhood was on fire, she got her cameraman to drive her to the scene.
Upon arrival, she claimed:
“We on the scene of this bitch … ”
We know this because Young was streaming live via Facebook, in a video which has since wracked up thousands of views.
While constantly telling viewers that she is reporting live from the scene, Young and her cameraman [below] take us on one heck of an adventure.
Throughout the ordeal, she doggedly searches for the cause of the house fire in suburban Virginia.
I’ll have you know that she finds it, with this from Daily Mail:
Eventually, she stumbles upon a man sitting on a lawn across the street from the burning home. He is sipping a Pabst Blue Ribbon beer and appears to be calm.
Young approaches him and states: ‘That’s your house? Oh god! Bless you.’
As he takes a sip of PBR, she says: ‘Now lemme ask you this: How did it catch on fire?’
‘I dunno.’
‘Was you home?’
‘Yeah.’
Then… a little while later:
She then notices that the PBR-drinking house dweller suffered burns to his hair and face.
She tells the camera: ‘The owner of the house was upstairs when the fire started…Doing my investigation, I have now discovered his motherf*****g hair was on fire, and his pants is burned off his d**n leg.
‘So he was right there when the fire started, and he got a six pack of godd**n PBR.
‘So now I gotta figure out how he start that fire.’
She tells a firefighter that she has figured out what caused the fire, but the firefighter rebuffs her. She also revisits the man, who appears to want nothing to do with her.
‘Once again, that’s the owner drunk as a motherf****r.’
And before you know it, the young man whose house is on fire gets arrested.
Here’s a highlights reel of how it all unfolded:
How’s that for an exclusive interview, hey?
From The Root, the best quotes from Rhoda Young to sum up what went down, with colourful language included:
Oh, we know all about having to use the word “allegedly”, but it was soon discovered that it wasn’t all that necessary:
A witness? Rhoda is more than a witness.
