Goalkeeper’s Last-Minute Flying Header Is A Thing Of Beauty [Video]

Italian team Benevento were seconds from suffering their 15th successive league defeat when Alberto Brignoli decided to intervene. Not bad at all.

Imagine you’ve lost 14 consecutive league games, the first 14 of the season, and you are rooted to the bottom of Italy’s Serie A.

Then imagine you’re up against the mighty AC Milan who, despite being a shadow of their former selves these days, are expected to wipe the floor with you.

That’s what faced Benevento, who set the record for the worst start to a season ever in the top five European leagues, during their home match on Sunday.

2-1 down, and in the 5th minute of injury time, Benevento goalkeeper Alberto Brignoli decided to come up for a free kick. The rest, as they say, is history:

For an HD version of the goal you can head over HERE.

That’s the first strike by a goalkeeper in Serie A for 16 years, just to drill home how unlikely a turn of events it was.

You know what’s coming, right? I’mma let you finish, Alberto, but Oscarine had the greatest goalkeeper goal of all time.

ALL TIME:

A solid 11/10 when you factor in the dance celebration.
