When good times go bad, hey Bob and Grace?
If you’ve been watching Keeping up with the Mugabes (come on, it’s better than the other one), you’ll know it’s been a rather horrid last week or so.
Bob has stepped down, everyone hates Grace, and Emmerson is now in the hot seat – only time will tell how that plays out.
We’ve already seen the photo of the Mugabes in the moments before Bob signed his resignation letter (HERE), where everyone looked pretty down on their luck, and now it’s time to see the moment that they watched Emmerson Mnangagwa become the new president.
This one was also widely shared on social media over the weekend, with News24 running the story.
First up the image:
And some of the comments:
Grace Mugabe & her husband watching the inauguration on TV! Her facial expression says a lot…
Mugabe and Grace watching Mary Chiwenga slaying it. My source says Grace Mugabe has started taking antidepressants.
I wouldn’t believe those sources, but let’s just enjoy a sense of smug satisfaction from her demise.
Also, how about Bob shedding tears? Via the Independent:
Zimbabwe’s former president Robert Mugabe cried and lamented “betrayal” by his lieutenants when he agreed to step down last week.
…sources within Mugabe’s inner circle [said] the devout Catholic held a rosary as he told his close associates and a team of negotiators at Blue House, his Harare mansion, that he was resigning. He announced the decision as parliament heard a motion to impeach him.
“He looked down and said ‘people were chameleons’,” one of the sources was quoted as saying.
Sure, and some people are power-hungry madmen who have systematically dismantled a country for their own gain.
It’s sad that we will never see Bob and co. behind bars, but please keep the dejected photos coming.
