In an effort to attract more applicants, New Zealand Police released an advert.
But not just any advert.
By now we know that New Zealander’s sense of humour is a little wacky – and this advert, which the police themselves dubbed the “world’s most entertaining police recruitment video”, sports the Taika Waititi-esque Kiwi humour that we have come to know and love.
Think What We Do in the Shadows or Hunt for the Wilderpeople, but with police the focus of attention.
The fast-paced clip showcases the many different facets of police work: there are the Armed Offenders Squad, dive and dog (and cat) squads, Eagle helicopter crews and frontline officers, who all pull some heavy lifting in the video to demonstrate what’s on offer.
