Feel like raising a spoilt little brat? Of course you do.
Or maybe you’ve always wanted a Ferrari, because you’ve hit 45 and realised you haven’t become the person you want to be, but that price tag is just a little out of your range.
Enter the kid-size Ferrari Testarossa Spider, which retails at R1,4 million.
That’s right, more than a bar for a kids toy.
The Drive can take it from here:
Although its engine comes from a sub-200cc lawnmower and it can’t go faster than 25 mph, this replica Ferrari’s Porsche 911-territory price tag may actually be justified. According to The Sun, only three of these toy cars was built for Harrod’s luxury department store in the 1990s. The owner believes that these replicas are mini-classics, and has toiled for nearly a year to get the model restored.
It may be a toy, but the attention to detail is Ferrari-levels of impressive. The car, if we can call it that, features fully-working doors, gauges, and pop-up headlights. It’s made entirely from fiberglass, but features an actual Ferrari steering wheel and leather interior. Unfortunately, it isn’t street legal.
At least you won’t come across that little rapscallion on the open roads.
I don’t know what you’re buying your laaities for Christmas, and we both know I don’t care, but I do have a suggestion.
If you’re looking at something overseas, but it doesn’t ship to South Africa and you’re feeling defeated, then check out Postbox Courier.
They’ll hook you up one time shoe shine, and they’re even offering a special discount for 2OV readers.
