It’s that time of the year again!
Yeah, boi. Summer is back and with it comes the monthly selection of free Concerts in the Park.
Of course, free anything is rare these days, so when you’re presented with a host of legit bands, hosted at the enchantingly historic De Waal Park, there’s no way you can pass them up.
The first, going down December 17, will see local golden boy Jimmy Nevis perform alongside The Rockets, another local act who have been going for 50 years, and who spend more than six months of the year performing internationally.
If you have no idea who Jimmy Nevis is, shame on you:
Born and raised in Cape Town, Jimmy Nevis is an alternative pop singer/songwriter and producer. Brought up in a musical home, he struggled to start his music career after matric. He decided to pursue his dreams without the help of a music qualification and wrote his first hit single, “Elephant Shoes” in 2012. Taking his single to as many radio stations as he could, it was not long until the country recognised his talent.
Take a listen:
Love it!
Free to the public, there’s no doubt that it costs a tonne to support such artists, which is why RSAWEB has chipped in to sponsor the events.
They will be there to answer any questions you have about what it is they do and what they can offer you.
Here are the deets:
When: December 17th
Where: De Waal Park
Time: 15:00 – 18:00
Although it starts at 3PM, get there early, bring your own picnic and all of your family and friends. Let the first jol of the summer, laughter, and picnics in the park sink into your soul – all for free.
