Apparently Idols Just Happened – Here’s The Winner [Video]

The show must go on, and it turns out the 13th season of Idols SA was actually very popular. Yesterday evening saw the finale take place in Jozi.

Yes, it’s still a thing.

Maybe winning the 13th season of Idols SA will mean big things for Paxton Fielies, who had plenty of support from the Mother City to carry her over the line.

The 17-year-old won the title at the season finale at Carnival City in Jozi yesterday evening, beating 25-year-old Durbanite Mthokozisi Ndaba.

Paxton actually skipped out on Grade 11 to compete, with this below via Times LIVE:

…she had decided with the support of her mother that 2017 would be a risk-taker year.

“It was a risk worth taking. But I intend completing my studies while doing gigs and shows. My goal is to make it internationally.

“The highlight apart from winning Idols was performing on my birthday during the season‚” said Fielies.

Fielies said she knows people appreciate her talent and will continue to support her.

She said every week was a difficult week as you didn’t know who was going home‚ on top of learning a new song.

“But here I am because I worked very hard to be where I am. I celebrated every performance knowing how hard I worked. I did receive criticism sometimes but I didn’t let it get me down.”

Paxton walks away with more than R1,1 million in cash, a new car and a record deal. She will begin recording her album in January.

Here’s the moment she was announced as winner. Please pay attention to the oke going bos bef*k at around the 1:50 mark:

Congrats.

Another headline-grabber from the night was the ‘re-imagining’ of Four Five Seconds by Rihanna‚ Kanye West and Paul McCartney.

Fine, why not?

Auditions for season 14 start in January.

I think that’s just about enough Idols SA for the year.
