December is coming, and that means a deluge of visitors from all over the world.
Including Jozi, because we all know those GP licence plates are everywhere.
We can’t say we blame them, but if you want to warm up for the Sandton Scurge then we have the perfect place to start.
Move over, Suzelle DIY, because here comes Tali.
According to Showmax, Tali’s Wedding Diary follows a self-obsessed Sandton princess (Julia Anastasopoulos of Suzelle fame) who’s moved to Cape Town, and is filming the build-up to her wedding to her property-agent fiance Darren (played by boet Anton Taylor).
Tali’s Wedding Diary was inspired by Julia’s own wedding to SuzelleDIY director Ari Kruger. Their shared sense of humour was part of what brought them together, and they had lots to laugh at in the build-up to their wedding.
You might have seen Tali’s Instagram account already (HERE), but for the rest of you let’s see what she is all about:
Lekker local content, right?
Here’s Showmax Africa head Chris Savides:
There’s no question that there’s a strong demand for local content and that it can be a key differentiator. When Julia and Ari approached us, we loved that they weren’t pitching a Hollywood show cut and paste into South Africa, but rather characters straight from Sandton and Sea Point. We plan to keep giving our customers the best international shows out there but at the same time offer something nobody else has – truly local programming like Tali’s Wedding Diary, made just for them.
The Sandton / Sea Point connection is strong with this one.
Tali’s Wedding Diary will be available to binge-watch on Showmax from December 14, which is around the same time the influx starts.
Bonus for all those who already have DStv – you can add Showmax for FREE.
You can also sign up for a free 14-day trial HERE, which gives you plenty of time to get started on your binge racing.
May Sandton have mercy on us all this festive season.
