First, we introduced you to the concept, and then we introduced you to the finalists.
Now, well, we have the winners.
At the beginning of October, Gumtree implemented their Pre-Owned Car Awards, a competition aimed at broadening the idea of a “winning car” as well as assisting people in navigating the pre-owned car market.
After a process of selecting, voting and judging, the winners from the Gumtree Pre-Owned Car Awards have been announced.
Selected through cooperation with data partner TransUnion, an analysis of the sales data of pre-owned cars (using the best-selling cars as a starting point) was used to examine factors like the retail price and value retention within the chosen categories and age range:
This was then reviewed by our panel (consisting of representatives from both TransUnion and Gumtree, as well as our Jury Chair). The finalists were then put through rigorous road tests in order to provide our final judging panel (consisting of leading motoring journalists and industry experts) with comprehensive information about the physical performance and appearance of the various vehicles.
The judging panel used the data compiled to select the final winners based on criteria unique to the pre-owned market/consumer – and here they are.
Below, in each category, you will see two winners. One comes the judging panel, whilst the other is from you, the voters.
Those would be the Judges’ Winner and the People’s Choice Winner, with the little green icons shown up top:
So now what? Well, armed with all that information, searching for a pre-owned car on Gumtree should be all the more easier.
Promise.
