Trump and Duterte, like peas in a pod.
We touched on the Filipino president and his penchant for the controversial last year (HERE), and Rodrigo Duterte hasn’t slowed down since then.
His latest headline-grabbing moment comes in the form of a love song, belted out at a dinner in Manila for leaders from across Asia.
Duterte was quick to point out that the song was “on the orders of Donald Trump” – such is the Orange Menace’s wont, I guess.
The Guardian reports:
At one point Duterte took the microphone to sing “Ikaw” (You), in a duet with local pop diva Pilita Corrales.
One of the song’s verses, translated from Filipino, begins: “You are the light in my world, a half of this heart of mine.”
“Ladies and gentlemen, I sang uninvited, upon the orders of the commander-in-chief of the United States,” Duterte said later…
Yes, this is real life.
What a time to be alive.
Just a quick aside – this is a real tweet sent out by the Donald over the weekend:
Really making use of those extra 140 characters.
