There’s a certain skill to placing an ad online.
You want to give the relevant info, so that people don’t pepper you with questions, and you want to upload a few pictures so that everyone can see what’s on sale.
Let’s say, for example, that you’re selling a wetsuit – kind of like THIS listing on Gumtree, ‘Gul wetsuit new‘ – R2 000.
The wetsuit comes with a rather brief description:
paid over 3k for it, Worn a few times but just to long for me. excellent condition still.
And then are the photos. First up:

Wait, what? That’s not a very good look, pal.
The person listing the wetsuit has since deleted that image, posting a new ad, but I think we can safely call this an epic fail.
There are plenty of ways to make easy money on Gumtree, like those folks cashing in on their old vinyl records (HERE), but try to use your brain when posting your ads on the site.
By the way, the new listing has that wetsuit reduced to R1 400. Is that because it doesn’t come with all the extras?
