Oooooh, girl.
Even if you were a massive fan of The Pussycat Dolls, you might have no idea who Kaya Jones is.
Well, she was only a part of the burlesque-troupe-turned-girl-group between 2003 and 2005, leaving just before they made it big with their first hit “Buttons”.
Perhaps inspired by the bravery of those coming forward against Harvey Weinstein, Jones tweeted a series of truth bombs in the early hours of Sunday morning, reports Daily Mail.
She claimed that the girl group operated as a “prostitution ring”, with the members forced into sex with entertainment executives.
Take a look at what she tweeted:
Jones’ allegations date back at least a decade, and did not name specific men who took part in the alleged abuse. Then:
In an interview over the weekend, she said that she had decided to come forward because she was deeply affected by the Las Vegas concert massacre, which took place shortly after she had left the venue for a friend’s bar nearby.
‘Executives, and managers, and agents and other artists that are on the label, if you don’t want to sleep with an executive they’ll pass you to that. Or sometimes they’ll continue to pass the girl, so she’s just passed around,’ Jones explained in a recorded interview with InfoWars.com.
‘Yes I said leverage. Meaning after they turn you out or get you hooked on drugs they use it against you. Correct. Victimizing [sic] the victim again,’ she continued.
It wasn’t long before choreographer and founder of The Pussycat Dolls, Robin Antin, blasted Jones’ claims as “disgusting, ridiculous lies”, saying that Jones is “clearly looking for her 15 minutes”.
Her single, released in August, only has 100 000 views – here.
Then, Asia Nitollano, who was briefly in the Pussycat Dolls in 2007, took to Twitter to write:
“Who is Kaya Jones? Lol She was not apart of The Pussycat Dolls the recording group so I do not know her. If she was in the Vegas show then I know nothing about that nor have I ever heard such a thing.
“Judging from google she looks like she just wants her 15min of fame. (Side note… it says she’s a Trump supporter… but yet she’s Canadian, which means her vote doesn’t count!!!! ) Same with this comment about The Pussycat Dolls; she wasn’t in the group so her opinion doesn’t count!!!!”
Oh dear.
