When the going is good it’s not hard to be in high spirits, and this year’s Formula One season has been kind to both Daniel Ricciardo and Lewis Hamilton.
Ozzie Daniel is enjoying his best ever season, with this weekend’s third place finish his ninth podium placing of the season – more than any other in his career. Lewis nailed first spot, further increasing his lead over Sebastian Vettel who was forced to retire from the race with an engine failure.
Before we get onto Daniel and his sneaky social media posts, let’s enjoy his exchange with Sky F1’s Simon Lazenby, who asked him about his future beyond the end of this season.
For some context, his contract with Red Bull is due to expire next season:
Lazenby: Are you courting others? How’s the courting process going?
Ricciardo: What is courting?
Lazenby: It’s just a kind of a posh, British expression … flirting?
Ricciardo (adopting a British accent): Well … one would say … one doth like to flirt.
Nice, Dan.
Now for those social media posts, with this via News AU:
Ricciardo loves to joke around on the podium — when he’s not celebrating with a shoey — and it was no different in Japan. This time Hamilton was involved as the ever-smiling 28-year-old had some fun.
Getting hold of the race winner’s mobile phone as he was interviewed at Suzuka, Ricciardo went into full selfie mode — with hilarious results — and uploaded short videos onto Hamilton’s Instagram account.
Lewis has since deleted the videos, but here’s what went up:

That’s quite a set of chompers he has going on. Any relation to Luis Suarez?
I prefer crash videos, but I suppose these will have to do.
