The first Blade Runner arrived in theatres just before the sequel’s star, Ryan Gosling, turned two.
It starred Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard, an ex-cop in Los Angeles circa 2019, whose job as a blade runner was to hunt down bio-engineered androids called replicants.
Now, over three decades later and in Blade Runner 2049 Deckard is brought back into the fold by a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Gosling), as he unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos.
From the brilliant mind of Ridley Scott and the visionary director of Arrival, Denis Villeneuve, BLADE RUNNER 2049 is a stunningly gorgeous action-event film which sees a profound and dangerous discovery threaten to forever blur the line separating humans from non-humans.
And if a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes is anything to go by, then you know it’s going to be a showstopper. 2049 is a good year, and Blade Runner 2049 is set to be one of 2017’s best movies.
