Most of the educated world roasts Trump on the daily, but back in 2011 he actually signed up for a Comedy Central roast.
He didn’t have a press secretary there to mop up his mess and lie for him either, and right from the start he was in fine form.
The woman who was supposed to take his coat from him as entered the stage, driven in on a golf cart flanked by beautiful women, wasn’t hot enough, pal.
Huff Post UK below:
…during the dress rehearsal, Trump grabbed Robert Ferkle, who served as the production’s stage manager.
The proposed woman, Trump said, was “not somebody he wanted to be associated with at that moment,” Ferkle recalled. “In other words, she was not pretty enough.”
To appease Trump, Comedy Central moved the actress elsewhere on the stage, Ferkle said. The show went on.
And go on it did.
Many were surprised that he had signed up for the roast, but Rick Austin, who served as producer for the Trump roast, knew they had a shot:
“The more that we learned about Donald Trump along the way, the more it became obvious that Donald Trump is up for anything, so long as you are talking about him.”
So he was up for the gig, but there were two things those gathered were not allowed to poke fun at: Donald’s past bankruptcies, and any suggestion that he was not as rich as he loves to boast about.
Before we get to the bit about Trump mentioning his presidential ambitions, let’s enjoy some of the roast’s best moments:
He sat there and took it pretty well, but then he had his chance to hit back. Stick it out and you’ll see him talking about becoming the greatest president in US history:
It appears he has lost his sense of humour since becoming POTUS, choosing to skip this year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner, where comedians generally poke a little fun at the sitting president before he delivers a speech of his own.
Remember when Obama destroyed Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner back in the day – from three minutes below:
Those were innocent times.
