What is it with people and getting down and dirty in public?

We’ve seen that London ‘sex outside the bar’ incident (HERE), a story from this week about a pizza store public pomp (HERE), and locally the Lion’s Head porno (HERE) from a while back.

One of the things about working at 2ov is that everyone wants to send you the latest WhatsApp video doing the rounds, which means everyone was on the receiving end of a particular video this morning.

It didn’t come with the emoji faces – we added those, because this isn’t about publicly shaming anyone in the video below.

We’ve blocked out faces and appendages, but I guess some folks are still going to find this graphic.

Our best bet is that this is in Bo-Kaap or De Waterkant, but perhaps one of you might recognise the exact spot?

It’s great that these two are so clearly in love, but there are a number of problems with this video.

A quick look at the clock in the car shows that it’s 5:44PM, and that means a couple of things.

Firstly it rules out the all-night bender, when one can be a little amorous and prone to public displays of affection.

Secondly it’s PRIME TIME Cape Town traffic – there are people everywhere, children being driven home from sports practice or other extra curricular activities, and it’s just not the right time to be caught with your pants down in plain view.

You can’t see the pair’s reaction because we’ve covered the faces, but we can confirm that there was a look of genuine shock. Come now, it’s rush hour, what did you expect?

We’re no prudes, and everyone must just live their best lives and love whoever the hell they see fit, but maybe not in the street during peak traffic.
