Meet Natasha and Cameron.
They set out to travel the world full-time back in October 2015 and even set up a blog to share their journey with the world.
At the end of 2016, it was Africa’s turn, and the duo arrived in Cape Town to begin their road trip through the southern half of the continent.
Once they had bought a travel-worthy car, they set out on a expedition that took them through these countries:
Pretty sweet selection, ain’t it?
A week ago, Natasha and Cameron released some visuals in an attempt to show off the unique offerings of the various places they visited. An enticing five-minute mashup of drone footage, it makes you feel as if you went along for the journey.
Check it:
While we’re so used to drone videos focusing on Cape Town or even the broader South Africa, it’s refreshing to see a little bit of every country in one – and shows just how Cape Town fits right in.
The footage was shot with a DJI Phantom which retails between R20k and R40k, depending on your preferences. You can check out all the options on WeFix.
If that’s out of your price range, you can get your hands on a DJI Spark for just R8 700. It’s lightweight, with less range, but packs just as much juice:
The DJI Spark may only be a Full-HD drone, but the sensor on the Spark is the same as the Mavic. If you are a vlogger, then the intelligent flight modes such as rocket and dronie can help you get the best angles.
You can even operate the Spark without a controller!
The battery life is rated at 15 minutes, but it’s easy to carry multiple batteries. One great factor is that this UAV can easily be charged via micro-usb!
The Spark can easily be used as a one shot take kind of drone since you can get it ready fast to capture a priceless moment.
If noise is an issue, then the Spark is a great drone to consider since its smaller motors are significantly quieter than other consumer drones.
You can read more on it here and, if you’re keen to get your hands on one, it’s also available through WeFix.
Happy vlogging!
