Remember Father’s Day? It was back in June, and we were throwing you deals left, right and centre.
Our one suggestion was a gift under R120.
We even went as so far to call it the “best gift ever” because, well, not only is it a South African invention, but it’s nifty AF.
You see, Drilby (which retails at R99) is a little red-and-black device that’s used in conjunction with your drill. You hold it up to the wall and, not only does it guide your drill bit, but it catches all that fine dust that flies out of the wall.
Told you it was nifty – take a look:
Whether it was the chance to win a Ryobi Cordless Drill worth R600, or the belief in a seriously cool product, many of you took our suggestion and gifted one or more to a family member or friend who can handle a drill.
One such person was an Umhlanga resident who bought three; one for his father, his father in law and even one for himself – I mean, why not?
All three were so impressed that he wrote a review of the product and sent it on to Drilby:
Drilby worked out as a great Father’s Day present both my dad and father in law. And I decided to throw one in for myself because my wife was a few weeks pregnant with our first baby! The dads can’t believe they have survived their whole lives without it and my first use drilling to into a concrete slab was hardly an event compare to how much dust would normally have been eaten in the process.
Let’s hope more unique inventions out of SA have the legs that Drillby has.
Boom.
Let’s read that last line again:
Let’s hope more unique inventions out of SA have the legs that Drillby has.
Now do you believe us? Shouldn’t have taken you so long.
