It’s not unusual for some or other celebrity to refer to Africa as a country, and if you’ve ever ventured overseas you may well have heard the “which country” question when stating you’re from South Africa.
If your business entails flying people around the world, though, you should probably know which countries are real and which countries exist only in movies.
Take for example Wakanda – sorry, where?
Wakanda would be the fictional country within Africa where the characters in Marvel’s Black Panther exist (trailer HERE). Fictional as in it doesn’t exist, unless you happen to work for British Airways and are involved with producing their in-flight magazine.
One traveller shared a photo of the magazine’s best-dressed predictions for 2018 page:
Cool, except for number 9 – actress Lupita Nyong’o:
Sorry, BA, but that’s pretty damn pathetic. Paris, France. Mumbai, India. Stockholm, Sweden. Wakanda?
Mistakes happen, but how many nets did that slip through on its way to print?
Nyong’o, who was born in Mexico but raised in Kenya, will be starring in Black Panther. The peeps who let that error slip through probably won’t be invited to the premiere.
