There’s a time and a place for racy photos on Instagram, and apparently it’s not in the midst of a hurricane crisis.
With Irma causing havoc throughout the Caribbean, and now making landfall in Florida, social media is awash with those ‘thoughts and prayers’ type posts.
Nothing wrong with that, except people tend to get a little riled up when the message comes accompanied by a rather racy picture.
Take for example Kara Del Toro (that image up top), who has come under fire for her since-deleted post.
We’ll pop it here again:
Then there’s Dana Hamm:
I’m no prude but that seems a touch tone-deaf.
Ukrainian model Lana Alexandra let her followers know she was OK with this snap:
After posting this the day before:
Lastly, Brittany Oldehoff with this:
Some of the criticism via BPR:
“Yep, your body will definitely help the newly homeless,” wrote one commenter on Del Toro’s photo.
“Talk about tone deaf, as people are losing all of their property and in some cases their lives this is what you post? Selfish narcissist,” said another.
“Yeah this photo truly portrays how hard you’ve been working to prepare. I wish people would use the#hurricaneirma hashtag to just get attention,” an angry fan told Oldehoff.
To each their own, I guess.
I guess it’s the Instagram model equivalent of posting a ‘happy birthday’ picture to your friend’s Facebook wall because you think you look good in it.
