Most of the Hollywood elite aren’t all that enamoured with Donald Trump and his entourage, and that certainly includes George Clooney.
Depending on who you ask, Steve Bannon either resigned or was fired from his role as White House Advisor on August 18, which has freed him up to go right back to Breitbart News.
George has been hating on Bannon for a while, to be honest, starting back in February of this year. Via EW:
Speaking to Canal+, Clooney called Bannon “a failed film writer and director,” citing Bannon’s derided screenplay for a hip-hop musical based on Shakespeare’s Coriolanus and set during the 1992 L.A. riots. “That’s the truth, that’s what he’s done,” Clooney said before calling Bannon, who has derided the so-called “leftist elites” in the past, “elitist Hollywood.” Said Clooney: “I mean, that’s the reality.”
He went one better last Friday during an interview at the Toronto International Film Festival:
“I like picking fights. I like that Breitbart News wants to have my head. I’d be ashamed 10 years from now if those weaselly little putzes, whose voices are getting a lot higher every week as this presidency starts to look worse and worse weren’t still [after me],” Clooney said. “Steve Bannon is a failed f—ing screenwriter, and if you’ve ever read [his] screenplay, it’s unbelievable. Now, if he’d somehow managed miraculously to get that thing produced, he’d still be in Hollywood, still making movies and licking my ass to get me to do one of his stupid-ass screenplays.”
There’s your ” failed f—ing screenwriter” comment, so let’s find where he called him a pussy. For that we go to the Daily Beast:
“Steve Bannon is a pussy,” said Clooney. “Steve Bannon is a little wannabe writer who would do anything in the world to have had a script made in Hollywood. He wrote one of the worst scripts I’ve ever read—and I’ve read it. His fake Shakespeare-rap script about the L.A. riots. Oh, you’ve gotta read it! It’s just fuckin’ terrible.”
You can read all about that wacky script HERE.
Bannon appeared on 60 Minutes, America’s version of Carte Blanche, over the weekend. Some of his interview below:
