I’m only kidding, but it’s taken far too long for Idris and Matthew to star alongside each other.

While more than 50 Stephen King stories have been adapted for cinema or TV so far – and there’s no sign of stopping as some of us wait for the premier of IT – there’s never been an adaption of his most ambitious work, ‘The Gunslinger’ series, until now.

The action packed The Dark Tower, starring Hollywood heavyweights Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba, opens in cinemas nationwide today.

In The Dark Tower, Gunslinger Roland Deschain (Elba) has been locked in an eternal battle with Walter O’Dim, (Matthew McConaughey) also known as the Man in Black, determined to prevent him from toppling the Dark Tower, which holds the universe together.

With the fate of the worlds at stake, good and evil will collide in the ultimate battle – as only Roland himself can defend the Tower from the Man in Black.
