Well this is unexpected.
Most road rage incidents end in some or other legal dispute or charges, and when someone has called you a ‘hotnot’ hugging it out seems like a long shot.
On Tuesday we published a pretty hardcore video of road rage in Paarl, Egan Vorster recording a man having a bit of a meltdown.
If you missed it check that out HERE – well worth a watch.
OK, strap yourselves in. Times LIVE with where we are at now:
In a bizarre twist of events the two people involved in the Paarl road rage incident performed a reconciliation ritual by washing each other’s feet and praying together…
Someone who attends church with [Marius ] Geldenhuys came across the video and saw it fit to have the two meet and talk things through.
“[Geldenhuys’] friend called me and told me he would like to meet and apologise. I wanted to be sure if it was legit as I was apprehensive to meet at first‚” Vorster told TimesLIVE on Thursday.
The friend told Vorster that he had been inviting Geldenhuys to church as he had noticed he had anger issues. Vorster said that Geldenhuys had also apologised for calling him a hotnot on Thursday. The two met at Geldenhuys’ workplace for the reconciliation.
Yeah, for real. Here’s how that played out:
I suppose I’m happy for them, but maybe Egan should also have washed Marius’ mouth out with a little soap.
Anyway it’s not every day we see South Africans come together to achieve some form of reconciliation and talk about these difficult issues.
High fives.
