Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, but put him behind the wheel of a car and he’ll turn into a raging madman.
I don’t know what it is about driving that constantly pushes people over the edge, but this incident from Paarl is pretty hectic.
Uploaded to Facebook by Egan Vorster yesterday at around 4PM, the footage and images of the attack are spreading rapidly across social media.
Via Egan’s Facebook post – can we just say 10 points for keeping a sense of humour in the face of all that aggression:
Racism… Well friends, today I had the personal experience of being assaulted by a man. He nearly drove into me but I managed to slow down in time. When I passed him and gave him the “head-shake”, he responded by calling me a “hotnot” -which is Cape for “I don’t like you because you have a nice tan”. He then swerved infront of me a 2nd time, showing aggressive hand-signs and even though my lip-reading is not on CIA-field-agent level, I could make out the words “ek sal jou bliksem”- which is Afrikaans slang for “I will make you say “Eina”.
Eina means ouch by the way.
Anyway, I followed the man- whom I have since named “Mr Padvark”- down the road where he stopped. Now I know what some of you are thinking, you’re thinking I should have just carried on driving serenely down the beautiful streets of Southern Paarl. Instead I stopped my car as well, and no- I did not jump out of my car like an idiot. That didn’t stop him though. He jumped out and grabbed a large wooden stick from his car which he used to strike me in the face.
To see what happened, watch the video. Warning: foul language ahead. This is Mr Padvark Part 1. Part 2 is coming soon. By the way if you know this guy, tag him.
Plenty of foul language ahead – you have been warned. The two videos have been combined below:
Ja – not lekker, Mr Padvark.
I’m guessing it’s only a matter of time until someone recognises that man, but Egan was still forced to put up with that nonsense.
Remember to take a few deep breaths and let out a little ‘WOOOSA’ before behaving like such a doos.
