In Brandon Stanton’s words, the move is a “natural evolution”.
Since 2010, Humans of New York (HONY) has been sharing some of the most significant – and at time, arb – thoughts on life.
Followers have cried, laughed and everything in between, offering up help, money, advice and whatever else to those brave enough to share a part of their story with the world.
Using Facebook as its main platform, HONY was started by Stanton, a photographer, who kept to the same format: photo, caption.
Until now, that is.
At the end of August the first episode of the Human of New York Series was published on Facebook and, of course, featured a collection of stories from humans in New York.
Watch the first episode in full below – and try not to cry:
How weird is it to hear the people tell their stories rather than read them?
The complete series, containing 12 30-minute episodes, was filmed over four years, and content was taken from 1 200 interviews – you can follow the page to keep up to date.
Go, Brandon.
