Donald Trump is approaching 30 weeks as American president, and it seems like each week provides another opportunity for him to prove what a piece of trash he really is.
The reaction to his handling of the situation in Charlottesville has been covered at length (the now infamous both sides rant), and then along came the terrorist attack in Barcelona.
Donald was on it in a flash, using his stubby little fingers to bang out a heartfelt tweet:
Nothing wrong with that, but he wasn’t done. Days after saying that he waited to condemn the Charlottesville Nazis because he wanted to get “all the facts”, he sends this tweet:
Right, where to begin. The BBC can unpack this one:
US President Donald Trump has invoked a debunked myth about a general who fought Islamist militants by using pig’s blood to commit mass executions…
Historians and fact checkers say there is no truth to it.
The myth, which has circulated online, refers to General John Pershing’s actions during the US war in the Philippines in the early 1900s.
He is said to have rounded up 50 terrorists and then ordered his men to shoot 49 of them, using bullets dipped in pig’s blood. The survivor was told to go back and tell his people what happened.
Pigs are considering ritually unclean in Islam, and in his tweet the president said the general’s actions acted as a deterrent to further acts of terror.
Sigh – damn, Donald, where do you get your intel from buddy?
You can see the debunking of that General Pershing hogwash HERE, but suffice to say Donnie has had another stinker.
It seems we say this on repeat every seven days, but it’s been a pretty torrid week for the semi-sentient naartjie.
