Back in 2014 Molly Bloom released her memoir, the rather elaborately titled “Molly’s Game: From Hollywood’s Elite to Wall Street’s Billionaire Boys Club, My High-Stakes Adventure in the World of Underground Poker”.
You might have guessed from that book title that Molly ran a private poker game involving some of Hollywood’s biggest names. As the picture above suggests (taken from the excellent Vanity Fair story on Molly), that included the likes of Leo, Ben, and Tobey.
Now there’s a new film headed our way that details the rise and fall of Molly, due out on November 22, with this info from the trailer:
Molly’s Game is based on the true story of Molly Bloom, an Olympic-class skier who ran the world’s most exclusive high-stakes poker game for a decade before being arrested in the middle of the night by 17 FBI agents wielding automatic weapons. Her players included Hollywood royalty, sports stars, business titans and finally, unbeknownst to her, the Russian mob. Her only ally was her criminal defense lawyer Charlie Jaffey, who learned that there was much more to Molly than the tabloids led us to believe.
Jessica Chastain is owning this one.
Chastain, Idris Elba, Michael Cera, Kevin Costner and Chris O’Dowd – hell yeah.
