This week is a pretty big one for a certain Jacob Zuma and the party he has ruined.
His future may well ride on the decision by National Assembly Speaker Baleka Mbete on whether or not to allow tomorrow’s vote of no confidence to take place in secret, which could mean that enough ANC MPs vote with their consciences to oust our captured and corrupt leader.
Waiting until the last possible moment to make her announcement, despite having had weeks to do so, Mbete is due to appear before the media at a briefing at Parliament at 3:30PM.
These things always tend to start a little later than planned, so we may need to be patient.

A brief note on road closures today via the South African:
The South African Police Service and the City’s Traffic Service will manage temporary road closures to ensure the safety of participants and the general public.
Intermittent road closures will be in place to accommodate the gathering today, 7 August 2017. As the procession moves along its route [from Keizersgracht to Parliament via Darling, Adderley, Spin and Bureau Streets from 14:00 – 18:00] and back, rolling closures will take place.
As for tomorrow (Tuesday), there are precise details on road closures. The following will be closed from 9AM until 7PM:
